Evening Events

Personal & Spiritual Growth
Led by: Jo Eaton, Sally McLaren and Brenda McGinn
Applications are invited for...
September 2010 - July 2011 (leaflet for 2010-11)

N.B. the deadline for applications has been extended into September 2010. There is a third Taster evening arranged for September 15th for all late applications.

A one year ecumenical course, held in a contemplative environment, leading to a deeper awareness of God, self and others. Read a description of the 2004-5 course from a member of that year's group HERE.

Course Content: Two topics per term:

  1. Praying
  2. Listening
  3. Spiritual conversation
  4. Discernment
  5. Human being-spiritual being
  6. Images of God and self

The Course is for those:

  • exploring themselves and their relationship with God and others;
  • in Ministry of any kind;
  • interested in deepening their spiritual life;
  • who can commit themselves to full attendance (Previous participants don’t want it to end!).

This is not a ‘how-to’ Course. The topics are explored in small groups - with facilitated input - but mostly from the spirit, wisdom and experience of the members of the group using a ‘creative listening’ method.
Every session starts with an experience of prayer.
Participants summarise their exploration of each topic in a short essay.
