The Monastery (USA): The Learning Channel

The learning Channel broadcast the American version of The Monastery on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 and the following four Sundays, Oct. 29, Nov. 5, 12 and 19. The five-part (one hour each) series was produced by Tiger/Tigress Productions, which also produced a the British BBC version from WorthAbbey in 2005. It was filmed in the monastery of Christ in the Desert in new Mexico during part of February and March 2006.

   
 

The Convent (USA): The Learning Channel

The learning Channel will show the same format filmed at a Trappistine monastery in Iowa, where earlier this year (2006) five women lived with an abbey of nuns for 40 days.

   
 

The Abbey (Australia): ABC

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation filmed a similar format at the Benedictine Convent of Jambaroo (south of Sydney), where earlier in 2007 five women lived with the nuns for 30 days. This was shown in November 2007. ABC also showed the orginal Worth Abbey "The Monastery" in December 2007.
